I am super excited to announce that I just received my accreditation in feline portrait photography with the Professional Photographers of Canada. 

To become Accredited the Photographer must submit a set of 10 images in one or more of the 79 categories of photographic specialties identified by PPOC. The submission is then judged by a panel of qualified judges. Once successfully completed, the photographer is then recognized as a PPOC Accredited Photographer and as such, a specialist in their chosen field.

The panel of three judges base their decision on six criteria, lighting, posing, clothing, exposure/contrast, composition and post processing(re-touching).  If you don't receive your accreditation on your first try you can submit as many times as it takes and have up to two years to complete the category or you start all over to re-do your 10 images. Sometimes it can take serval tries to get the accreditation and that is what is rewarding about this process.
