Behind the Lens: Photographing 13 Cats for Rebel Cat Rescue's Charity Calendar.

There’s something magical about working with rescue cats. Each one has its own story, personality, and charm, waiting to find a forever home. Recently, I had the joy of photographing 13 adorable cats for Rebel Cat Rescue in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. These playful and curious kittens are all either up for adoption or will be once the highly anticipated Rebel Cat Rescue Charity Calendar is released. This is my third charity calendar this year, and I’m honored to say it’s my third consecutive year working with Rebel Cat Rescue. Helping them create this calendar has been such a rewarding experience, and it’s amazing to witness the positive impact these initiatives have on finding homes for these loving animals.

The calendar will not only showcase their personalities but also serve as a reminder of the incredible work Rebel Cat Rescue does in our community, offering these animals a second chance at a happy life.

The Power of a Calendar This charity calendar isn’t just about cute photos—it’s about raising awareness for animal rescue and adoption. Each year, the Rebel Cat Rescue calendar helps raise much needed funds for the organization, while also bringing attention to the cats who are still waiting for their forever families. With every calendar sold, someone is supporting the vital work that this rescue does. For me, working on this project for three years in a row has been such a privilege. It’s incredible to see the impact these calendars have on the community and how they help animals find their homes.

Why Rebel Cat Rescue?

Rebel Cat Rescue is more than just a shelter. It’s a community of passionate volunteers who work tirelessly to give these animals a better life. Their dedication to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats in Yorkton and surrounding areas is inspiring, and I’m so proud to be a small part of their mission through this annual calendar project.

Behind the Scenes of the Photo Shoot- Each kitten had its moment in the spotlight, and I made sure to capture both their playful antics and their softer, more serene sides. From tiny head tilts to pawing at toys, every cat brought its own unique energy to the session. I’m excited to share their personalities through the final images in the calendar.

How You Can Help If you’re a cat lover—or know someone who is—consider purchasing a copy of the Rebel Cat Rescue Charity Calendar when it’s released. Not only will you get to enjoy adorable photos of these 13 cats, but you’ll also be directly supporting an amazing cause. All proceeds go toward helping Rebel Cat Rescue continue their work, ensuring that more cats in need find loving homes.

This year’s calendar is a celebration of the lives these animals can have once they find the right family, and I’m so proud to be a part of that. Thank you to Rebel Cat Rescue for trusting me with this project once again, and to everyone who supports their mission by adopting, fostering, or donating. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of these wonderful cats, one photo and one adoption at a time. Stay tuned for the calendar release and, if you’re looking to welcome a new furry friend into your home, consider adopting from Rebel Cat Rescue.

Every cat deserves a loving home, and you could be the one to give it to them!
